Makeup Empties
Part 2 of my empties this month is makeup.
Most of these products I used on a daily basis and are products I have sworn by. First, I finished using the Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel and the label has completed rubbed off but I'm pretty sure I had the shade brunette. This brow gel lasted a really long time so I really think you get your money's worth. I also liked that the brush looks big but it doesn't pick up too much product so I didn't get gel all over my face when using it. The tinted aspect was also nice because my eyebrows are black, but since my hair is dyed dark brown, the brown brow gel helped soften my eyebrow color and match it better to my hair. I'm currently using the Benefit Gimme Brow and after using it for an extended period of time, I think I actually like the Anastasia one more! (My biggest problem with the Benefit one is that it picks up way too much product each time!)
I used up 3 concealers. First, I finished yet another Bobbi Brown corrector in light peach. This is simply my favorite product for under eye circles. I've raved about it before and I've repurchased this time and time again. Not much else to say. I finally decided to put my Chanel long-lasting concealer to rest. This is pretty pricey but I got to enjoy this wonderful guy because it was a present from my mother. It looks so similar to the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer which I just started using now, but I would say it's not as high coverage and long lasting. This was a pretty concealer but I don't think I'll be repurchasing it again. I used up this Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Concealer pretty quickly. I was surprised how quickly I finished it meaning there wasn't as much product as I was hoping for. I used it strictly for under my eyes and it was really full coverage and looked really nice on the skin but I wasn't a huge fan of the applicator. I much prefer a brush pin or doe foot applicator. For that reason I don't think I'll be picking this one up again either.
I finished up a deluxe sample size of the Dr. Jart Water Fuse BB Cream. I LOVE this stuff. I love that it's made with 50% water to give your skin lots of hydration and a real dewy finish. Not only does it act as a BB cream (similiar to a tinted moisturizer), it also acts as a treatment and sunscreen! It's got SPF 25! And there is one universal shade that fits all because it adjusts with your own skin tone. This stuff is super easy to slap on for every day and in fact all the Dr. Jart BB creams are pretty darn good. Since I had run out of this, I had picked up my La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid. This is the second time I've picked up this product but this time I have the tinted version. Originally I was really dissapointed with the terrible scent this has but I have gotten over it and have finally finished using it. I apply this as a base some times since it is tinted (with some spot concealing) or I use it under my foundation. It's really important to still use SPF in the winter time!
Finally - my freaking obsession with this particular Fairy Drops mascara has come to an end (I have already repurchased the waterproof version and cannot wait to use it!). You know how they say mascara has a shelf life of 3 months? I think I used this for at least 5 because I just didn't want it to end. I have finally come to terms that it's dried out and no longer works but seriously - I know mascara is a very personal thing and you either hate or love certain ones, but this one was seriously a huge discovery for me and I used it every single day the past 5 months! I've mentioned this mascara too much - now I can try a few other mascara's in my collection and finally talk about something different!
