Five Product Drugstore Makeup Starter Kit

I wear a lot more makeup now than I ever did in college. If I could give my college (and even high school) self some makeup pointers, these would be the five products I would recommend to buy now.

For my base, since I only apply makeup in the morning and realistically I don’t powder again throughout the day, Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation is perfect for all day coverage and shine-free base. I highly recommend just testing out this foundation because it’s got great lasting power and is extremely affordable!

To keep it simple, for my eyes I want a long wearing product that doesn’t crease and doesn’t take a million steps. I’m a big fan of the one product eye make up look, and for that I would recommend the Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows. They’ve been talked about by everyone and that’s because they’re just that good! So good. (The Maybelline Color Tattoos are also really good, too!)

Finding a good waterproof eyeliner is hard. I’ve finally found one that I’m happy with. It’s the Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner. My good friend recommended this to me! This stuff doesn't transfer after a long day at work. In the summer I might get a little tiny bit of smudging - something only I would notice. It's a really good affordable drugstore waterproof eyeliner.

For mascara, I’ve been using a lot of high-end mascara lately, but I love my drugstore mascaras, too. My all-time favorite that I’ve repurchased again and again is the Loreal Waterproof Telescopic mascara. I love that wand! It does everything I want, especially holds a curl so well. I'm currently testing a bunch of other mascaras so I don't have it (sorry not photographed!)

For under my eyes, I would recommend the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser. I just finished up my tube and I'm thinking of repurchasing it! I love the easy to apply sponge applicator and it's really moisturizing and easy to blend it. I still have to set it with a powder and some times use my finger to really press in the product. I wouldn't say this is really full coverage, but it's great for every day.

I barely used lip products in college, but I would recommend maybe a Revlon Lip Butter or two or three...! There are so many good shades to chose from!
