Current Skincare Routine
I just finished typing up this whole post and when I hit save, it froze and didn't save!! Anyway, I got a request on instagram to share my current skincare routine so here it is! I have combination/oily acne prone skin so if you have a similar skin type as me than hopefully this will help you!
After I cleanse my face morning or night, I apply toner. I've been using the Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner which took me awhile to really love. At first I thought toner was too strong and my skin is quite sensitive, but now I really like how it makes my face feel as the first step. This toner is exfoliating and just really provides a nice clean canvas for my next products. I apply this all over my face and bring the extra down my neck as well.
Essence is something new I've introduced into my skincare routine. This is still quite a foreign step in the U.S. market, but a huge deal for the asian market. Essences are like a more concentrated serum that is for targeting something specific. I've been using the Cremorlab Mineral Treatment Essence which really helps with hydrating the skin. It's a very watery consistency that I pour onto the palm of my hand and then gently pat into the skin. I wait for all these products to dry a little before I apply the next product as well. This feels really refreshing on the skin and leave my hands a little sticky after so I wash my hands after this step.
Next I apply the Tula Probiotic Revitalizing Eye cream. This eye cream goes on like butter and it just super easy to blend in. I love how easy it blends in and it provides a great base for my makeup. It feels incredibly rich and moisturizing and I like to use my ring finger to dab it on all around the eye.
The Mizon All-In-One Snail Repair cream is one of my favorite steps. This is such a unique serum because it's formulated with 92% snail extract! The consistency is unlike any serum I've used before. It's a white goopy serum that sinks in really smoothly into the skin and leaves a nice matte layer all over the face. I'm hoping this will help reduce my acne scarring but it's still too early for me to tell. After this serum dries, I apply my La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo which I've talked about a milion times. It's just my all time favorite acne treatment.
Finally, my last step is my moisturizer and for that I've been using the Avene Clearance lotion. This moisturizer is an anti-shine regulating lotion targeted for oily, blemish prone skin. I have dealt with a shiny t-zone all my life so this instantly attracted me when I came upon the product description. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I really like how it feels. It's more of a gel formula than a creamy one and I feel like it really seals in all my other products and acts as a great final step.
