First 2016 Empties Post (It's a Big One)

Empties

Let's jump right in. I finished a lot of really good skincare discoveries from 2015. I used up the Perricone MD Intensive Pore Minimizer pretty quickly. I used it during my transition when I first moved from NY to LA. I loved using it as a super gentle toner and while it's crazy expensive, I really do think it helped calm my skin and help it's texture. Another product I purchased at Whole Foods during my move was the Kensington Rose Butter Facial Balm. I can't live without facial balms. I use them every night to remove my makeup. I left this particular one in the shower and it was nice to use but a little to thick for my taste. I prefer the Clinique one that I'm using now.

From Kate Somerville, I finished sample sizes from the Blemish Banisher Kit that I picked up from Sephora. The Daily Detox Cleanser became my favorite cleanser of 2015. I just really loved everything from the packaging of the bottle and how you twist open the lid to the texture of the gel/cleanser. The Exfolikate Acne Treatment was pretty good but I prefer the regular Exfolikate in the white and orange packaging.

I am really sad I finished my Glossier Priming Moisturizer and Soothing Face Mist. The Moisturizer was a simple no fuzz really good moisturizer. I loved using it under makeup because my skin always felt really plump and moisturized after I used it. I love facial mists in general, so the Glossier Soothing Face Mist was lovely to use as a toner or makeup setting spray.

The First Aid Kid Facial Radiance Serum was nice to use in the morning to add that extra bit of glow to your skin. It was incredibly easy to apply and sink in. I didn't notice anything long term, but it does feel really nice to wear in the mornings.

For eyes, I finished another Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Brown. I've gone through a few of these now and definitely one of my all time favorites for eyebrows. I finished the Covergirl The Super Sizer mascara which I wasn't really expecting too much out of this mascara but actually it's become one of my favorites. You can easily go over the top with this mascara, but if you master the application technique it can give you serious almost fake looking lashes. This stuff just gives you incredibly thick (almost clumpy) and long, long lashes. I hear they have some Star Wars themed ones out right now that I might to look into... And finally for eyes I finished the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner. I think the Eyeko eyeliners all have a fantastic brush and when you first get the eyeliners they are super rich and black, however, they do tend to dry out a little fast on me.

Last but not least, I finished the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealers. I used Custard to brighten under my eyes and Honey for covering blemishes or redness on my face. I used these two concealers pretty much all year last year so they were definitely worth the price. They're creamy and easy to blend, but I do think that the Urban Decay concealer lasts longer on my face and it feels more lightweight with the same amount of coverage. While I did really enjoy the Nars concealers, I've found a new concealer combo that I'm just much more pleased with!

That was a lot to touch on! Thanks for reading!
