The Summer Switch: For Oily Skin
Summer for my skin means I need to control the oil and the shiny t-zone. The heavier moisturizers and products I used in the winter cannot be used in the hotter months because it just melts off my face and looks bad. First thing I've switched up is my cleanser. I've switched to a gel cleanser because gel cleansers can absorb away the excess oil on your skin. I'm currently using the First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay. This gel cleanser feels really nice and gentle on your skin. It foams up a little so it feels very soft. Not only does it help get rid of excess oil, it unclogs pores, the really cleans the skin with the combination of red clay, rosemary leaf oil and botanical antioxidants. It helps control break outs and also helps reduce sebum production which can often lead to more spots.
Next I have switched up my moisturizer. In the winter I really go for heavy duty creams because my face can feel so dry and cracked but in the summer I'm as shiny as you can get. I recently picked up the La Roche-Posay Effeclar Mat. I love this moisturizer so far. I've been using it for a few weeks and I think it's really helps my makeup last all day, helps reduce shine, makes my pores look smaller and my skin looks smoother. It feels light-weight and it creates a nice matte film over the face. Hope this helps anyone who is looking to switch up their routine for summer!
