August Favorites
August was a huge month for me. I got married! I spent most of the month in Fiji barefaced but here are a few favorites that still really stood out to me this past month (and the weeks before that I was missing on this blog).
First, I have been using the Clinique CC Cream for a few months now. I wanted something with a little bit higher SPF so that's why I picked this one up. The oil-free formula also caught my eye and I used to use the Clinique Moisture Surge eye cream religiously so I wanted to try something else from that range. I like that it's very natural looking and easy to apply in the morning. It's what I have been using consistently for the past few months and I really like it.
A few skincare items that I cannot go without and have also travelled with me to Fiji are the La Roche-Posay Effaclar K and Effaclar Duo. These two combined help my skin stay calm and somewhat spot free. I've talked about the Effaclar Duo before but I wanted to amp it up by also adding another step into my skin: Effaclar K. Effaclar K contains Salicylic Acid while Effaclar Duo contains Benzoyl Peroxide. I'm still not sure entirely what my skin responds to best but so far I've been layering both in hopes to fight the spots.
Since I did travel quite a bit I liked keeping a facial mist with me at all times (especially on the extremely dry plane rides). I liked this small travel size of the Evian Mineral Water Spray. Some people hate these and some people love them. I don't carry around with me at all times but I do think it's a nice refresher for traveling. This was great after I woke up from a long nap or just stepping off the plane to wake up and look more fresh.
I have been using the Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment serum for a good amount of time now (almost half the year) and when I first started using it, I really noticed a difference in the morning after I applied it. It's a multitasking serum that helps brighten, moisturize, plump and smooth your complexion. I think it's a great overall serum but it is a bit pricey so I'm not sure if I will repurchase it but I really do love using it at night and will cherish every last drop!
My last two makeup favorites are MAC Peaches for blush: It's just a beautiful easy to wear standard peach color and the lipstick I wore on my wedding day: the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine #15 Corail Intuitive. I am absolutely obsessed with this lipstick and I've been wearing it almost every day after the wedding as well. It's a beautiful slightly sheer easy to wear soft peachy color. I really like the formula of these lipsticks. They're very buttery and the packaging is so intricate and the lipstick itself has some nice weight to it!
Those are my favorites for this month! Thanks for reading!
